Thought for The Day - In The Dark

Morning routine: wake very early, write and occasionally, look over my shoulder. "Sailing under a Penny Moon."

Sometimes it's worth every bit of your will to appreciate your work and how God moves in your heart.

Sometimes, it's all you have.

Thought for The Day - Rise of a New Day

I am certain, I'm not the only one who considers this: there doesn't seem to be enough hours in a day!  Rarely is this said about our jobs, but for those times when deadlines are fast approaching, and the effort needed to complete tasks isn't enough, "work" gets thrown into the category too! We spend our conscious hours chasing a rabbit with a clock on his head, around a track! We rise early, go to bed late and wonder why we are exhausted all the time. Task after task after task fills our day! And of course, one of our biggest concerns is when do we have time for "me" or "us?" Is it possible to squeeze in a few minutes, an hour or two to relax or go for a walk - without it being a 5k for charity?

The dawn of a new day; there's nothing like it when you have time to appreciate it! Take time to appreciate it. Plan your day with a little extra time relax at the beginning of the day. Sit with a book or a journal, take some time to reflect on your progress, where you are in life. Calmly, with little thought of the day ahead, consider what you would like your life to be. Do so, pushing off "I can't" and "My finances" as much as possible.

Dream!
Consider!

And allow this precious time to become part of your waking moments!

Thought for The Day - A Liberal Dose

Expectation 24 x 36 Oil

...Of Encouragement!

Sorely needed, but spread out over long periods of struggle and perseverance. There are times - I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way - where it seems the help you need doesn't arrive "on time." You and I have a time table, usually more urgent than our circumstances dictate and when that help doesn't come by that due date, we feel disappointed. But a lesson learned and repeated often: continue functioning as if you have other priorities and as sure as a new day arrives, an answer to your dilemma comes as well.

Liberal doses of encouragement, when they come, change the landscape of your days. If you've spent the last few weeks in cloudy and foggy days, let a few well placed compliments, a dash of a reminder about your dreams and plans flash across your brain. You will be surprised how that cancels out the sense of loss and despair. Of course, if we had it our way, the encouragement would never end. But another lesson learned: few of us live our lives on the mountain-top. We live our lives in the valleys and plains. Meaning, we have to struggle, there will be loss and disappointments. Even when you've received "a blessing," following closely on its heels, comes an unexpected turn of events. But keep your head up and keep pushing forward. The race is not over!

Thought for The Day - Be Encouraged

Shaken Up! 8 x 11 pencils

I woke with this song playing in my mind and it seemed somehow, appropriate for this morning's entry. Not sure where this will take you and I, but here it goes!

These words "be encouraged," said when we know someone is going through a time of difficulty; the power of these words is the intent behind them. Literally saying to someone, with a desire that their life is turned from tragedy or calamity to joy; that desire seems to lift that person's sense of hope. And seeing that "shift" in the individual, gives us hope.

Paramount to my existence is giving individuals hope and encouragement. For me, it is like igniting or giving additional energy to the light inside us all. It is the human/divine connect that awakes in us our purpose for living. And for some, the igniting is more than a matter of "lifting up the bowed down head," for some, it's a matter of taking destructive energy and turning it to life affirming, life building energy! And just as uttering words of encouragement reflects on the listener as well as the one who says it, so we are a community, designed to bring us all into our divine purpose.
