Red Windows

Red Windows

Funny how we make windows to keep from seeing out or in. But in this case what is let in is the beautiful light. Short of a completely pitch black night, there's always beautiful light coming in around the edges. Each panel seems to have it's own character and glow.

  1. I like this. My eye is drawn around the picture. You've succeeded in portraying the effect I experience looking through block windows...my eyes are constantly looking through another block and another and another...there isn't a starting point nor an end point or a horizon line. enternity possibly, infinity.

  2. Interesting comments! That is the effect I wanted! Funny! I read in a book called "The Artist Within" - a very good book for everyone, really - that things must have a balance and emphasis, among other key parts. I feel like the dark center of block is the resting point and dark lines give emphasis and separate the parts. But it's a whole, which I love. One day, I'll do a painting where the the outer edges are illuminated and seemed to glow. That would feel fantastic to do!
